You're on Your Way!

If you are here looking at this website we already have something in common. Either you have a love for Europe and want to bask in it while you’re not there, or you are really interested or curious in going. Either way, I welcome you! It actually started like that for me about four years ago. After my husband and I decided we were going to travel to Europe I started scouring the web. I Googled until I could Google no more. In my searching I came across the Rick Steves website, which I had never heard of before. I was so intrigued! A company that wanted me to appreciate all that is wonderful about Europe- I knew I had found something special. I happened myself upon one of these online scrapbooks and could not tear my eyes away. If you are visiting this website and have not had the opportunity to go to Europe, there is hope! This is where I started four years ago with little knowledge as to how it was going to happen. I hope you find something helpful while you’re here!

My desire to travel to Europe started from the day I was born…okay, okay maybe not that far back.  But quite literally my desire started at a very young age, primarily because my parents gave me a french name: Suzette Michelle. As a little girl I became curious about other people and other places, especially France. As I continued to grow so did my desire to go to Europe. I remember in college learning about all the masterpieces and European history. My desire was brimming to the edge. A couple years into my marriage I knew I had to find a way to go to Europe. I sat down, spoke with my husband, and we made a plan to make it happen.  It might take a while, but we were going to go to Europe.

By day, I work more than full time as a mental health therapist. I feel grateful that I’m able to do something I love day in and day out.  But by night, I’m a dreamer wanting to fill my life with adventure.

Food

I love food. Need I say more? I don't, but I'm going to anyway. Over the years my love for food has grown. Naturally, one thing about Europe that I was very excited for was the food. Each place we visit I will highlight our food experiences for you. You will see this highlight on the right side of each "days" page. I also understand food can be overdone but in my opinion food is just as important a way to connect with culture as anything else. Additionally, food is a work of art comparable to the works of art you will see all over Europe.

Before I left for Europe I was talking with my boss (who was kind enough to let me take a three week+ trip to Europe) and one thing he said to me was "Prepare to be wowed." He said that every now and I then I need to step back and take in my surroundings, and when I did that I would have a "wow moment." While I was in Europe I tried to do that - or it happened to me at least once a day. It really changed my experience. This is also something I have shared with you. You will see my "wow moments" on the right side of each "days" page.

While I was preparing to go to Europe I raked through the internet, like a grad student in a dollar store, searching for travel tips. Now that I have come and gone I hope to share with you what I learned. Again you will see this tip on the right side of each "days" page. Additionally, there is an extra page with all this tips combined.
